"Exploring Quality Child Care Choices"
"Exploring Quality Child Care Choices" is a consumer education campaign produced by the Wisconsin Child Care Resource & Referral Network under a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. The materials created for the campaign include: a poster and three brochures available in English and Spanish; radio public service announcements in English, Spanish, and Hmong; and a 12 minute video about quality child care (English only). The three new brochures replace three brochures heavily used in the child care field. "Your Guide to Choosing Child Care" ("Su Guia Con Respeto Al Escoger Cuidado Para Ninos") is a new consumer brochure that uses Child Care Aware information. "Your Guide to Licensed Child Care" ("Su Guia El Cuidado Para Ninos Bajo Licencia") is a brochure that focuses on important child care licensing rules in Wisconsin and is given by licensed child care providers to families they serve. "Your Guide to Legal Child Care" (Su Guia Para El Cuidado Para Ninos Legal") is a brochure that distinguishes between unlicensed, licensed and certified care in Wisconsin. The 12 minute video, titled "Exploring Child Care Choices," is being distributed at no cost by the Office of Child Care to selected agencies and groups statewide. Additional copies of the video may be purchased from the Wisconsin Child Care Resource & Referral Network by filling out the order form on this site. You may obtain a loaned copy of the video from the Wisconsin Child Care Information Center by calling (800) 362-7353. The video is designed especially for parents to help aid them in their search for quality child care. Viewers are guided through the different types of child care regulations and given some indicators of quality child care. "Exploring Quality Child Care Choices" is an ideal video to play in waiting rooms and human service and W-2 agencies, and doctors' and dentists' offices. "Exploring Quality Child Care Choices" could also be used in parenting and early childhood education classes. The uses of this video are endless.
